A Romantic Destination Wedding in Pyrgos, Santorini
The best way to describe stars aligning, was in the union of Tanya and Mohamed. Tanya is from Israel, while Mohamed is British with Indian descent, they live in London and they were married in Greece. Four different cultures unite in one beautiful destination wedding in Santorini. Joanna Loukaki, a fantastic wedding planner connected me to Tanya and Mo and I’m so grateful that she did.
Tanya and Mo’s romantic and sweet wedding took place in Santorini on October 13, 2019. It was a bright and sunny day. If you’re ready, come along with me on a journey in these few photographs that chronicle the beauty of Tanya and Mohamed’s day.
These two lovebirds have a beautiful love story. They visited Santorini, fell in love with the place and just a few months later they got married there. Everything was so sudden, so they only had a few months to arrange the whole wedding. That did not stop it from being a fantastic and breathtakingly beautiful destination wedding in Santorini.
The day begun at “Valsamo Suites” where Tanya was preparing. It was a wonderful day and the weather was optimal. Tanya was feeling a little nervous in the beginning (weddings can be quite stressful), but I always try to lighten the mood and I reminded her that this was her special day, and she should be happy and enjoy every moment of it.
I also came across a beautiful Indian tradition, which I was able to capture amazing pictures of. Tanya was getting a Mandala henna in her hand. After capturing the elegant and minimalist details where Tanya was, I left to find Mohamed.
Mohamed was staying at “The Impressive One” Hotel. When I arrived there I found him relaxing at the swimming pool with some of his best friends, including his Best Man and his family. Unlike Tanya, Mohamed was really relaxed. He was everything a wedding photographer wishes for in a Groom. He was very helpful and followed every instruction I gave him. We shot some beautiful portraits and then I was on my way back to “Valsamo” to capture the first look.
The first look is the instant a couple first locks eyes on their big day. It is incredibly romantic, and it was no different for Tanya and Mohamed, as you’ll see from their pictures. They had their first look in a beautiful rooftop with the view of the Aegean Sea and the magnificent white and blue church Theotokaki. Tanya was so beautiful in her wedding dress that Mohamed was left speechless! It was such an emotional moment even I couldn’t keep my tears…
After the first look, we left for the Venue “Pyrgos Restaurant” where the ceremony would take place. The setup from “Joanna Loukaki” was fantastic. White and pink roses from “Betty Flowers” made the already beautiful scenery even prettier.
The ceremony took place under the beautiful wooden gazebo with the view of the Aegean Sea and the beautiful traditional white residences of Pyrgos. When the wedding officiant pronounced them husband and wife, Tanya and Mo couldn’t hide their happiness as they exited the ceremony to guests throwing them rose petals. It was a remarkable moment.
Santorini is a dream destination for couples and photographers and I feel blessed being part of this marvellous wedding. It was beautiful to see Tanya and Mohamed’s love story hit this new milestone there.
As a wedding photographer, having couples like Tanya & Mo is what drives me and makes me love what I do.
